The Ascension of the Lord

Psalm text (Ps 47:1-2,5-6,7-8)

God mounts the throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.

Clap your hands, all you peoples;
shout to God with loud songs of joy.
For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome,
a great king over all the earth.

God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.

For God is the king of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm.
8 God is king over the nations;
God sits on his holy throne.

Gospel Verse (Mt 28:19,20)

Go and teach all people my gospel; I am with you always, until the end of the world.

Psalm text (Ps 103:1-2,11-12,19-20)

The Lord has set his throne in heaven.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and do not forget all his benefits.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far he removes our transgressions from us.

The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding, obedient to his spoken word.

Gospel Verse (Jn 14:18)

The Lord says: I will not leave you orphans, I will come back to you, and your hearts will rejoice.

Psalm text (Ps 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9)

God mounts His throne to shouts of joy, a blare of trumpets to the Lord.

All you peoples, clap your hands,
shout to God with cries of gladness.
For the Lord, the most High, the awesome,
is the great King over all the earth.

God mounts His throne amid shouts of joy;
the Lord amid trumpet blasts.
Sing praise to God, sing praise.
Sing praise to our King, sing praise.

For King of all the earth is God.
Sing hyms of praise.
God reigns over the nations.
God sits upon His holy throne.
